Would a Fanuc 21i 'for lathe' operators manual have anything in it, or be perhaps easier to digest for turning centers specifically.that isn't in the standard 21i operators manual? They seem to be about the same number of pages. For all I know the manuals are identical except for the 'for lathe' copy on the cover.but I wonder. For one thing the standard 21i operators manual, in 700+ pages doesn't have a single drawing of the control itself (buttons, etc).was that considered superfluous by 2000, or was there yet another manual on the basic button pushing aspects? For what it is worth, my Romi (GE Fanuc 21i-T fitted) came with a Manual titled: Series 21i/210i/210is-Model TA 'Operators Manual' Deals with nothing but turning operations and use of the control.

It is about 730 some pages. Don't think i have seen a complete picture of the control in that manual.the Romi documentation has that.think different makers had different front panel layouts. There are drawings of specific parts of the control front, like the keypad and soft key layout in the Fanuc manual.

Cheers Ross I bought what I thought was the full set, brand new on eBay for 45 bucks. Operators., maintenance, parameter and setup manuals. But sure enough, even though there is no mention on the cover of mill or lathe, the operators manual drawings and text does relate more to milling than turning.so if yours relates to turning only I guess I do need that one too, dangit.

The cover of mine just says 'Series 21i- Model A Operators Manual. No mention of milling and no 'M' in the series number. So I just assumed it covered both possibilities.but apparently not really. In thumbing thru I just now stumbled upon the specific Fanuc keyboard/softkey drawings, photos and info however.it's under 'General'- 'operational devices'.so it is there after all. I'm surprised you have an 'A' series.figured your machine being newer would be a 'B' or 'C'.

Is your LCD screen monochrome or color?.Mine is in two volumes but the total pages in both volumes are not that different from the eBay single volume book.about 760 pages.

I have a Takisawa TC20 and I did a grid shift on '3' then I got the 300 APC: 3 AXIS NEED ZRN error. Had a lot of drama understanding the manual so my have stuffed up something but now after after doing a turret position reset and clearing the error when I restart and rotate the tunnel after a minute or so it comes back with the error 414 SERVO ALARM: 3 AXIS DETECT ERR. When I check the position of axis 3 instead of it being at 000 it reads 359.828 the error distance is always the same. It seems that by doing the what is in the manual it doesn't change it or fox it. The parameter I may have stuffed up is 1815 I have it correctly set now but at one point I had change the first 4 bits to 1 then after getting no result I changed it back. They are correct now. Any help greatly appreciated.

I must be missing somthing, In the good book (actual its a bad book because its making me more confused) it doesn't mention APC changes at all. So it says go into 1815 APZ and change to 0, turn off. When turning on again you get the 300 APC Alarm then set K13.0 =1.

Move the turret one or more position using turrent turn button under zero return button, Cycle power, Need step says move the turret to just before the position 1 (bit confusing if its just before or not) Set K13.1 =1, now use turret turn button under zero return till you get a beep and the display shows '3 0.000' Then clamp and clear error. Return K13.0 to 0 and K13.1 to 0 So at that point should all be good but when I switch off and restart pushing the tool change button ends up with a 414 error. The error is becasue the displayed position is different to what it should be by about 0.187.

So what do I need to do different.
