. 200 Answers SOURCE: hey pal! Go to your favorite Motorcycle parts store (Cycle Gear etc) and buy 4 Qts of Castrol Syntec 10-30 or 10-40 wt. If you bike has a centerstand put in on center. Look carefully on both sides of bike engine for a small siteglass to check oil level.if you have a dipstick forget about the siteglass.Your bike will take between 3 &4 qts and we will start by putting 3 in the crankcase after we have put drainplug back in and installed new filter ok?

Then start motor for 1 minute letting the oil pump into the new filter. Shut bike off and check oil level.top off as needed.Good Luck to you!Tim Posted on May 08, 2009. 11896 Answers SOURCE: I assume you are using the Triumph issued tool. Do you have a Service Manual. It has a of the tool and a note: The tool mounting plate is marked 'IN' & 'EX' denoting which are the inlet and exhaust sides of the tool. Always ensure that the tool assembly instructions are closely followed to ensure correct tool operation. Hold the legs firmly against the mounting plate and tighten the leg to mounting plate fixings to 7Nm.

Turn the engine over until the camshaft lobes for the valves to be adjusted point directly away from the valves. As the valves begin to close, the tool legs will prevent the valves from rising, allowing the shims to be removed using a soft faced lever and a magnet. (the shim is often a tight fit in the tappet).

Replace new shim, coated with engine oil on both sides. Turn the engine over until the camshaft fully opens the valves being adjusted. Remove the tool with the valve fully open. Check the shim has seated correctly and adjust, if necessary, before proceeding. Note: The tool is designed to allow adjustment of 2 pairs of valves without moving the mounting plate.

This is achieved by moving the tool legs to a new location once one pair has been adjusted. Repeat the procedure until all valves have been adjusted. You'll need a shim selection chart to make things simple. Place the tool with the IN pointed to the Intake Valves & EX pointed to the Exhaust valves. Does that help? Posted on Aug 25, 2009. Hi, Martinus the vast majority of service, parts fiche, and owners manuals on the internet are 'FREE' to download and all service manuals contain wiring diagrams in the back pages.

The rest usually charge a modest fee of $15 and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available and some were never printed in English. The Indian and Philippine markets are usually in E-book format only, for these rare occasions I shall look on eBay and find the cheapest one available. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have. If there is no $ sign after the manual link it is free to download. To download your manual for viewing or printing please click on the blue links below.

Severely discharged or a damaged battery must have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper 'LOAD' test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries. Faulty alternator/generator and or voltage regulator. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the 'NEGATIVE' cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at 'BOTH' ends. Faulty main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity. Faulty system and or ignition relay, check for continuity. Faulty ignition coil, ignition/electronic module. Faulty CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.

Hi, Kjd1948 not that I am aware of and I don't have the year of your bike but wiring diagrams on a 2002 Sprint show 1 black wire coming from the negative terminal and 2 brown wires coming from the positive terminal any other wires added were after the fact and could be color coded wrong but you would be blowing fuses or melting wires or draining the battery if a true positive source wire was hooked up to the negative post on the battery, trace the wire in question and see where it goes. Sorry, you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Triumph despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one.
